The table below includes a selection of plain minor methods, including all those with no 56 places, except at the half lead, and no 1236 place notation. At present I haven't included any 4ths place methods. All 30 regular plain methods are included; that is those with Plain Bob lead ends. Method names in italics indicate methods with non-Plain Bob lead ends. A larger selection of methods is here.
Methods in the same column have the same work above the treble; methods in the same row have the same work below the treble. For instance, if you ring Single Oxford above the treble and Double Court below, you get Hereward.
The first six columns are also in pairs; the Plain Hunt backwork is the 6ths place version of Plain Bob, Single Court is 6ths place Single Oxford, and Killarney is 6ths place "Reverse Canterbury". The Plain Bob and "Reverse Canterbury" groups differ only in the 34 work around the lead end. Note that the method one would naturally call Reverse Canterbury, by comparison with the Doubles method (i.e. Plain Bob with 34 places) is known as Single Canterbury. However, Canterbury is, as one might expect, the reverse of this. The method actually named Reverse Canterbury is the twin-hunt version of Reverse Canterbury Doubles.
The rows that are grouped together, shown by shades of colour, differ only at the half lead, e.g. London Bob is Double Court with 5ths made under the treble at the half-lead. Note that the St Clements and Childwall groups differ only in the front work; similarly the Double Oxford and Thelwall groups. The Reverse Bob and Canterbury groups differ only in the 34 work at the half lead; dodging in the former, places in the latter.
